Contents: Module Societal statistics includes methodology and statistics chapters, specific for societal area. Because a survey is the most commonly used way for collecting data, students are acquainted with errors presenced at this type of data collection and how to avoid those errors. Because in social science collected data is usually measured on nominal or ordinal scale, students become aware with suitable statistical methods for analysing that kind of data.

- Probability and Statistics (Dr. Mihael Perman, Associate Professor)
- Information Technology in Data Analysis (Dr. Vladimir Batagelj, Full Professor; Dr. Andrej Blejec, Assistant Professor)
- Multivariate Analysis (Dr. Anuška Ferligoj, Full Professor; Dr. Vesna Omladič, Associate Professor)
- Seminar in Official Statistics (Dr. Lea Bregar, Associate Professor)
Core module courses in the second year of the study:
- Errors in Survey Research (Dr. Vasja Vehovar, Associate Professor)
- Categorical Data Analysis (Dr. Tamas Ruday, Full Professor; Dr. Jože Rovan, Associate Professor)
Elective courses:
A student can choose two courses from other postgraduate programmes, selection must be affirmed by coordinator of the study.
